Business visit to Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan

From April 5 to 8, a Brest Region delegation, led by Petr Parkhomchik, Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, visited Kazan.

On April 8, the “Brest Region - Republic of Tatarstan” business forum was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan. Eleven industrial enterprises from the Brest Region, as well as over 80 companies from Tatarstan, participated in the event.

Shamil Ageyev, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan, welcomed the forum participants: “It is especially important for us now for our companies to interact with the Republic of Belarus. Events like these help establish good contacts for further cooperation”.

Mikhail Batsenko, Deputy Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, introduced the Brest Region business delegation during his speech and emphasised that the delegation included key industrial enterprises from the Brest Region interested in entering the market of the Republic of Tatarstan.

German Lerner, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, welcomed the participants and noted: “For us, the Republic of Belarus is a fraternal nation; we have been cooperating for quite some time and very successfully. Belarus is among the top ten countries in terms of trade turnover with the Republic of Tatarstan, but, unfortunately, our trade turnover was previously higher. We would like to increase it through events like these and delegations like these. Successful cooperation must be built through direct contacts”.

On the sidelines of the business forum, bilateral B2B negotiations were held, and several cooperation agreements were signed between the “Brest” FEZ Administration and the JSC “Innovative Industrial Park - Technopark in the Sphere of High Technologies “Technopolis “Khimgrad”. A memorandum on the use of innovative road marking materials “Equator PRO 40”" and “Strela PRO 40” between OJSC “Alekseyevskdorstroy” and LLC “STiM-Kazan” on highways in the Republic of Tatarstan was signed, as well as a supply agreement between OJSC “Savushkin Product” and LLC Trade and Logistics Company “Three Whales”.

During the visit, the Belarusian delegation met with Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, and also visited the republic's largest enterprises: PJSC “KAMAZ”, OJSC “Zelenodolsk Plant named after A.M. Gorky”, the Kazan Aviation Plant named after S.P. Gorbunov, JSC “Kazan Helicopter Plant”, Farming Enterprise “Ramaevskoye”, and others.
